CrossMedia Services Announces Name Change To ShopLocal, LLC

Premier Web Shopping Resource To Introduce Enhanced Web Site This Fall To Complement Its Comprehensive Service Offerings

CHICAGO - September 13, 2005 - CrossMedia Service, Inc., a provider of Web shopping services for retailers and other local businesses, has changed its name to ShopLocal, LLC. According to ShopLocal CEO Brian Hand, the name change reflects a natural progression for the company he founded six years ago as it moves towards the goal of becoming the industry's leading one-stop shopping resource.

This fall, the company's signature Web site, ShopLocal.com (currently the 10th largest shopping comparison site on the Web according to comScore Media Metrix), will be unveiled with significant advancements, including enhanced user interface and comparison tools including e-commerce functionality. The new and improved ShopLocal.com joins ShopLocal's industry-leading suite of shopping products and services, including SmartCircular, SmartCatalog, and The ShopLocal Network.

"The switch to ShopLocal, LLC obviously makes sense from a branding perspective," says Hand. "But beyond that, it shows we're committed to building the most comprehensive shopping resource on the Web, to serve the needs of both consumers and retailers."

Hand launched CrossMedia Services in Chicago in 1999 after serving six years as a senior executive at venture capital firm First Analysis. Initially, the company's emphasis was on converting sales circulars and newspaper ads into interactive Web content. But in subsequent years, the company's product offerings have expanded and currently include the following:

SmartCircular: the industry-leading tool that transforms existing print promotions into an online format proven to drive in-store traffic.

SmartCatalog: a highly engaging way to present print catalog content on the Web, with a focus on alignment between the online brand and in-store experience.

ShopLocal.com: provides the consumer a comprehensive look at deals and products from national chains to regional and local businesses, featuring both in-store specials and e-commerce offerings.*

The ShopLocal Network: more than 200 leading media, search and shopping Web sites, providing advertisers access to a dynamic, geographically-based marketplace of ready-to-buy shoppers.

DataPoint Services: Web shopping data and analysis to provide advertisers with the understanding necessary to make multi-channel marketing efforts more successful.

* Coming fall 2005.
